Every bride has that killer dilemma – should I invite children to my wedding or not. Nowadays, many couples choose to start a family before getting married and so have their own children to look after and keep entertained on their wedding day. In some cases, couples getting married will have a number of friends attending who have their own children. So, do we invite them or do we not?

Wedding photos of children skidding on the dancefloor and busting some moves with grandma are great. But what about the boring bits (and believe me there are LOADS of boring bits at weddings for children. The wedding breakfast that goes on for hours. The speeches (trust me, the best man is not as hilarious when you are six and fed up)

Children make weddings so memorable. They are great to have there. More brides and grooms are choosing to include youngsters in their big day, rather than imposing a blanket ban.

The concept of a wedding crèche came about from my own brothers wedding. Running nurseries for a living, I was designated children’s entertainer! Its grown from there.

Typically we arrive at a venue and set up out of sight in an area close enough to be on hand, but far enough away from the wedding breakfast that children can make noise and have fun. We set up a whole host of activities for the children to remain entertained while the grown ups get to listen to the speeches without little people running around.

As night falls, the last thing you will want at your function is overtired children and stressed parents. To ensure that everyone has a great time, we will set up a “snooze zone” with travel cots, sleep mats, soft cushions and blankets. We will have calm soothing music playing and children will be supervised at all times. Let our experienced staff calm the children to sleep to allow adults to continue to enjoy the party.

The purpose of a wedding creche is three fold:

1. So that you enjoy the day that you have been planning for years
2. Your guests can enjoy your day without worrying that their children are bored, restless, noisy or irritable
3. Your littlest guests leave your wedding having had a fabulous time too!
